How does a city build its fashion identity? For Shenzhen, the answer is already taking shape.
The 2026 Shenzhen & Milan Lifestyle Week took place from July 17 to 19 at Dalang Fashion Town in Shenzhen's Longhua District. Centered on fashion, the event explores a new kind of international exchange—driven by the market, rooted in the industry, and powered by digital tech.
Now in its third year, the Shenzhen & Milan Lifestyle Week has moved beyond simple cultural visits into practical, deep-level industry cooperation. This year's event features a China-Italy Fashion Technology Roadshow and Matchmaking Session. It brings together government agencies, brands, industry associations, and investors from both countries to connect businesses with supply chains, global retail channels, design talent, and capital, pushing for real, on-the-ground partnerships.
During the opening ceremony, companies and institutions from China and Italy signed several MOUs, agreeing to work together on design innovation, product development, and events.

Shenzhen is a powerhouse for China's clothing industry, backed by a highly developed supply chain. Dalang Fashion Town is home to renowned Chinese fashion brands like Marisfrolg, Ellassay, and HUI.
According to the China National Garment Association, apparel from the town makes up 30% of the total sales revenue in top-tier shopping malls across the country.
But technology is Shenzhen's true backbone. The city behind giants like Huawei and Tencent is now rapidly weaving technology into fashion.
The opening ceremony showed off ten major fashion tech application scenarios, from cloud rendering and smart wearables to 3D custom printing. These displays highlighted how digital tools are used at every part of the industrial ecosystem—from design and manufacturing to the final sale.
As fashion and technology increasingly intersect, Shenzhen is providing a practical digital playbook for brands at home and abroad.
The creative dialogue between East and West is another main theme of the event, showcasing multiple fashion brands from China and Italy.
HUI, a Chinese designer brand and a regular at Milan Fashion Week, presented its Fall/Winter 2026 collection "Nü Hong". Inspired by Miao embroidery, wax-resist dyeing, and brocade from southern China, the collection weaves traditional craftsmanship into modern fashion.
