Hermès has officially opened the doors to its acclaimed traveling exhibition Hermès in the Making in Shenzhen, marking the twelfth stop in a global tour that places craftsmanship, sustainability, and brand transparency at center stage.
Running from May 17 to June 1 at Shenzhen Talent Park, the exhibition invites Chinese visitors into the world of Hermès artisanship—offering a rare, close-up look at the brand’s savoir-faire, rooted in its 187-year legacy of excellence. Since its launch in Copenhagen in 2021, the exhibition has traveled through cities across the globe in a welcoming, immersive format. Its arrival in Shenzhen underscores Hermès’ long-term commitment to engaging Chinese audiences in meaningful cultural dialogue.
The Shenzhen edition recreates the warmth and authenticity of a real artisan’s workbench, offering a multisensory experience that reflects Hermès’ creative values: longevity, exceptional quality, functional beauty, and the marriage of innovation with tradition. Artisans from across the maison’s métiers—including leather goods, silk, jewelry, watchmaking, porcelain, and saddlery—will be on-site to demonstrate their craft in real time.

Complementing the live experience, a series of short films by documentary filmmaker Frédéric Laffont, titled Hermès-Footsteps Across the World, will be screened on-site. The films explore Hermès’ global approach to sustainability through a diversity of voices and landscapes.
As Hermès deepens its footprint in China, Hermès in the Making serves as more than an exhibition—it’s a cultural exchange that brings the maison’s quiet mastery into the public realm.
