On September 4th, Canada Goose announced its participation in the 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE) to be held in Shanghai, demonstrating the brand's confidence in China's economic development and its steadfast commitment to long-term investment in the Chinese market.
In 2022, Canada Goose made its debut at the CIIE, showcasing its iconic high-end functional products within a 200-square-meter exhibition space. The brand also hosted special events to launch its latest product series and collaborations and highlighted its latest progress in sustainability and corporate social responsibility. Through this opportunity, Canada Goose aimed not only to showcase its brand history and premium products to visitors but also to establish a strong connection with Chinese culture and build up business relationships.
Continuing its participation in CIIE in 2023 reflects Canada Goose's recognition of China's growing economic momentum and its determination to further explore the market's potential by following the trend of consumption upgrades.
Canada Goose entered the Chinese market in 2018 and has since established 25 retail stores, 3 e-commerce channels, and employs over 450 full-time staff in China. Currently, China has the highest number of Canada Goose retail stores globally. Driven by its outstanding performance in the Chinese market, Canada Goose saw a 52% year-on-year growth in the Asia-Pacific region in the first quarter of the 2024 fiscal year.
Kim Airey, Executive General Manager of Canada Goose in Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau, stated, "The southwestern region is one of the crucial regional markets for the Canada Goose brand in China. In May of this year, we unveiled our second official authorized center and a new urban showroom in Chengdu. In the future, we will continue to fulfill our commitment to the Chinese market, bringing richer product lineups, exceptional services, and extraordinary experiences to discerning Chinese customers. Together, we will explore more possibilities for sustainable luxury travel and lifestyles."
While expanding its market presence, Canada Goose has also deeply collaborated with local communities and engaged in social welfare initiatives. In partnership with the Shan Shui Conservation Center, Canada Goose initiated the Sanjiangyuan National Park Yangtze River Source Region Demonstration Village Natural Experience and Community Engagement Project. This long-term initiative aims to support biodiversity and foster harmonious coexistence between humans and nature through various activities such as biodiversity monitoring and research, community development, policy research, and public participation. This project represents Canada Goose's first large-scale international corporate social responsibility initiative outside of Canada, showcasing the brand's commitment to advancing the HUMANATURE concept and supporting the communities where it operates.
