CASA LOEWE Shanghai Opens Its Doors

On February 18, LOEWE unveiled its largest Casa in Asia at Jing An Kerry Centre in Shanghai. Covering 695 square meters, the boutique is positioned at the vibrant crossroads of Nanjing West Road and Changde Road.

From the moment visitors step into Jing An Kerry Centre, CASA LOEWE Shanghai makes an immediate impression with its striking golden ceramic façade. Up close, the textured Spanish enamel tiles, crafted by hand, shimmer like rippling water under the light—a tribute to the brand’s Spanish roots while capturing the dynamic energy of Shanghai’s modern landscape. Inside, this tactile ceramic theme continues, complemented by a harmonious mix of white, brown, gold, orange, and green tones. Sunlight filters through glass partitions, casting a soft glow over the contrasting elements of cool concrete, warm marble, brass, and oak, striking a refined balance between contemporary edge and inviting elegance.

The boutique showcases an extensive selection of LOEWE’s signature ready-to-wear, handbags, leather goods, small accessories, eyewear, footwear, jewelry, scarves, and shawls, along with a curated range of home fragrances and store-exclusive pieces.

More than a flagship store, CASA LOEWE Shanghai is an immersive cultural space, blending art, craftsmanship, and design into a living gallery.

The boutique’s curation seamlessly integrates global design icons with Eastern artisanal heritage. Near a display of antique Spanish ceramics, Isamu Noguchi’s ethereal paper lanterns float like delicate clouds. Axel Vervoordt’s sculptural stone table hovers above a charred wood pedestal, creating a dialogue between nature and form. John Allen’s vibrant pastoral landscapes take shape as plush wool carpets, transforming each step into a journey through poetic countryside scenery. Han Dong’s bronze sculpture “Rebirth” captures nature’s raw essence, while Japanese master Hafu Matsumoto’s intricate leather basket showcases the precision of traditional weaving techniques. Soon, the space will welcome Takayuki Sakiyama’s fluid ceramic work “Listening to the Waves” and Dahye Jong’s avant-garde sculpture fusing horsehair and stainless steel, both recipients of the LOEWE Craft Prize 2021.

Surrounding the space, the boutique’s walls are adorned with a curated selection of paintings: Ken Price’s bold, expressive ink compositions, Mahesh Baliga’s dreamlike lake scenes, and Merlin James’s evocative painting, together creating a rich visual dialogue that transcends time and geography.
