British label HUNTER has opened three new stores across China—in Shanghai’s historic Zhangyuan, Beijing’s bustling Sanlitun, and Hangzhou’s premium MixC mall—signaling a bold retail expansion under Authentic’s ownership.
Anchored by the theme “Love Is a Journey Through Time Together,” the launch features immersive British-inspired outdoor installations in Shanghai and Beijing, designed to spotlight the brand’s storytelling ethos and deep ties to tradition.
The crown jewel of the rollout is HUNTER’s new Shanghai Zhangyuan flagship. Located in a district that blends local heritage with urban vibrancy, the store replaces the brand’s former pop-up with a permanent presence. The façade combines natural white jazz marble and matte black finishes, while a life-sized Victorian-style steam train installation sits at the entrance—complete with cast-iron wheels, wooden carriages, and a glowing acrylic arch that evokes the cinematic romance of London’s King’s Cross Station.
Inside, industrial-style track systems, translucent acrylic panels, and stainless steel accents create a sleek, modern retail environment. A central water feature channels rain into an indoor pool—a poetic nod to the brand’s British weather roots—while curated greenery and signature red boots lend a garden-like serenity to the space.
The expansion comes after Authentic Brands Group acquired HUNTER in 2023. Since then, Authentic has partnered with Baozun Group to form a joint venture overseeing HUNTER’s business in Greater China and Southeast Asia. The new openings mark the first major milestone in the brand’s regional growth strategy.
