ZIMMERMANN has opened its second boutique in Shanghai — and its largest one in mainland China — at HKRI Taikoo Hui, further solidifying the Australian brand’s growing presence in the region.
Spanning 375 square meters, the two-storey space was conceived by long-time collaborator Studio McQualter and captures the refined elegance that defines ZIMMERMANN. Its white cement façade and minimalist lines are enhanced by double-height glass doors, custom ceramic detailing, and overhead lighting that together lend a sense of quiet grandeur to the entrance.
Inside, glossy white walls and patterned Italian terrazzo floors set a serene tone, while discreetly integrated columns create a seamless flow between areas. A sculptural concrete-and-steel staircase anchors the space, drawing the eye upward and linking both floors in a striking interplay of form and function. The first floor features the Triclinio chandelier by Italian designer Vico Magistretti — a 1950s original — and artwork by Australian artist Clare Milledge, infusing the space with character and artistry.

Upstairs, the design softens further. A sunlit VIP lounge and fitting rooms invite guests to linger, while a lacquered tented ceiling and custom metal accents elevate the accessory display area. Works by Belem Lett — known for his bold, expressive pieces — add a vibrant edge. The lounge is styled with French vintage pieces and rich plum-toned upholstery, accented by a mid-century Spanish oak sideboard, lending the space a refined yet relaxed air.

Coinciding with the launch is the arrival of ZIMMERMANN’s Spring 2025 Ready-to-Wear collection, now available in-store.
This Shanghai flagship represents an important step in the brand’s strategic expansion in China. It follows the recent opening of ZIMMERMANN’s first Beijing flagship and signals further ambitions to grow across the country.
